What Is Calcite and Calcium Carbonate?

Calcite is the mostly common nature calcium carbonate, it’s extensively deposited into the earth. The form of calcite can be varied, and its aggregate can be cluster of crystals, or granular, block, fibrous, stalactite, soil etc. The calcite is shaped with quite many square pieces, so it could be divided into natural and small square solution, and state of ice and rock.

Calcium Carbonate is a chemical compound exited in calcite, limestone and pearls etc, the formular is CaCO3. We manufacture the calcium carbonate with the calcite exploited in our quarry with the process of crushing, milling, screening drying and air classification. 

 

Low Iron Calcium Carbonate and Ultra Clear Glass

           

The calcium carbonate is the most popular materials of manufacturing industries and raw materials, it nearly covers all light and heavy industrial productions and manufacturing sectors, the calcium carbonate could be used in artificial stones, natural rubber, composite calcium new plastic, cable, paper making, medicine, toothpaste, cosmetics, glass, electrical insulation, food, textile, adhesive, sealant, asphalt, building materials etc.

For the commercial glasses, e.g.bottles and jars consist of Soda-Lime Glass, it's the most common type of container glass for beverages, food, and some commodity items. Silica sand, soda ash and calcium limestone or dolomitic limestone represent act as major raw materials used in the production of this kind of glass.For the imdivisible part of modern human life, flat glass is also soda-lime glass, it's composed, at a minimum, from silica, sodium oxide, and calcium oxide; however, most also contain oxides of magnesium, iron, titanium, potassium, and aluminum. Soda-lime glass is produced because the softening point of silicon dioxide is 1500 ˚C to 1670 ˚C; hence, melting silicon dioxide to form flat sheets very expensive. By adding sodium oxide, the softening point is lowered to 550 ˚C – 750 ˚C. However, this makes the glass water- soluble, so other materials, such as calcium oxide, are incorporated to provide chemical resistivity. Although glass can be made from pure silicon dioxide for specialty applications, the cost is prohibitive for large-scale use.

For a few varieties of glass not as common as regular soda-lime glass may offer some advantages for solar modules. One type is low iron glass, in which it requires very low iron content for the raw materials, so the Calcite is ideal, as the iron content could be lower than Dolomite/Limestone. There are various grades of low iron glass, with iron content as low as 100 ppm (regular soda lime is around 1000 ppm). Glass containing less iron oxide has higher solar transmission, engendering more efficient solar cells. Solar transmission for soda lime glass is around 85%; the solar transmission for low iron glass can be above 91%.
